Dean Patrick M. Lloyd, D.D.S., M.S.
Dean Patrick Lloyd is the twelfth permanent dean of the School of Dentistry. His broad-based experience and a willingness to get involved at all levels of the profession bolster his leadership effectiveness.

A graduate of Marquette University School of Dentistry, Dr. Lloyd earned his certificate of prosthodontics from the VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He also earned his M.S. from Marquette. After completing his specialty training, Dr. Lloyd returned to the VA Medical Center to direct a fellowship in geriatric dentistry. In 1987, he was appointed by the Department of Veterans Affairs to serve as National Coordinator for Geriatric Dental Programs. In 1992, he joined the faculty at Marquette, where he was Director of the Special Patient Care Clinic and the Wisconsin Geriatric Education Center. From 1996 to 2004, he served as chair of the University of Iowa Department of Family Dentistry.
From 1993 to 2003, Dr. Lloyd was Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Prosthodontics. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a Follow of the American College of Prosthodontists and the Gerontological Society of America.
