Of the 999 students that applied to the D.D.S. program, 96 were admitted.  Our students rank high in their undergraduate classes.  For the 2007-08 school year, the 96 first year D.D.S. students averaged an overall GPA of 3.60.

Training them Well
The School of Dentistry trains more than 95 percent of Minnesota's dentists. Students are well-prepared for both the CRDTS and the National Boards.

Fostering Professional Leaders

For the past three years, University of Minnesota dental students have held the highest positions of leadership in the American Student Dental Association (ASDA).  Recently, Minnesota students were elected ASDA vice president, district trustee, and delegate of the year for 2004-2005.  Our students are the first in the nation to become full members of their state professional association.
