Oral Medicine
Oral medicine is that specialty area of dentistry based upon a sound understanding of the pathophysiology of oral disease and medical-dental relationships. Oral medicine and secondary oropharyngeal mucosal diseases as well as paraoral diseases. It involves physical and medical evaluation, head neck examination, oral diagnosis and other therapeutics for such conditions as : vesiculobullous, ulcerative mucosal diseases, painful, burning mucosa, infections oral diseases, oral manifestations of systemic diseases and salivary gland dysfunction.
