Dr. Greg R. Germaine Lectureship

Greg R. GermaineIn January 2013, the School of Dentistry lost a dear friend and colleague, Dr. Greg R. Germaine. Greg was loved for his caring and warmth, his ready laugh, his intense curiosity, and his incisive scientific mind. The School of Dentistry wishes to honor Greg and his legacy.

The School of Dentistry is partnering with the Department of Microbiology of the Medical School to create an annual public lecture named for Greg. The University of Minnesota Germaine Frontiers in Science annual lecture will feature and acknowledge a rising star faculty investigator. Topics will favor work of high impact typically related to Greg’s research interests, oral microbiology and/or mucosal immunity.

The Department of Microbiology and the School of Dentistry have pledged ongoing support but we need your help to make the recognition special. Whereas a joint planning committee will be responsible for speaker selection, your gift will provide support for a plaque to honor each year’s invited speaker in Greg’s name, a collation before each year’s lecture and a special dinner with the invited speaker.

Please honor Dr. Greg R. Germaine with a tax-deductible gift in support of the annual lecture program. A fund has been established with the University of Minnesota Foundation to receive and acknowledge your generosity.
