  • What is the Summer Research Fellowship Program

    The summer fellowship program provides University of Minnesota School of Dentistry students with the opportunity to do research under the guidance of a faculty mentor. For more, click here.

  • How can I be involved?

    Gifts of any amount are appreciated, however there are special giving levels available for the Student Summer Research Campaign.

    • Faculty members and mentors are invited to become a Faculty Partner with a gift of $5,000 (payable over 3 years).
    • Alumni are invited to become an Alumni Friend with a gift of $1,000, or an Alumni Partner with a gift of $5,000.

    Donors who are currently employed at the University of Minnesota are able to make a pledge and have payments automatically deducted from their pay check. Please contact Emily Best at emilyj@umn.edu or 612-625-6811 if you are interested in this option.

    Gifts can be made through the University of Minnesota Foundation in a number of ways. The goal is to make the gift-giving process convenient, flexible, and accessible to you, our supporters.

  • Naming opportunities

    Opportunities to name a fellowship, an endowed fund or a travel award are available to individual donors as well as organizations and corporations:

    Named Stipend

    Example: The Smith Family Scholarship

    Gift of $100,000 to create an endowment that will produce interest of $4,000 annually which will provide a stipend for one student.

    Endowed Fund

    Example: The Jim Zimmerman Fund

    Gift of $25,000 (or more) to create an endowment that will produce interest of $1,000 annually to assist the Student Summer Research Program.

    Named Travel Award

    Example: The David Jones Summer Research Travel Award

    Gift of $25,000 to create an endowment that will produce interest of $1,000 annually which will be awarded to a student traveling to a regional or national research conference.
