Local Anesthesia: A Hands-On Training Program

Moos HS Tower is located on the East Bank of the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis Campus, at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Harvard Street SE
Final registration will begin at 7:30 AM on Monday.
Continental breakfast will be available during registration on Monday and on each subsequent day.
The program will run from 8:00 AM to 5:15PM on Monday and Tuesday, and from 8:30 AM to 4:45 PM on Wednesday.
There will be 15-minute refreshment breaks mid-morning and mid-afternoon.
Lunch is included and will be served between 12:00 to 12:45 PM on Monday and from 12:15 to 1:00 PM on Tuesday and Wednesday.
If you have special dietary needs or are disabled and have special needs, please contact us at least two weeks prior to the program date.
What to Wear
We suggest that you bring a jacket or sweater to help you adjust to the seemingly inevitable changes in meeting room temperature.
A full refund will be issued if you cancel at least one month (30 total days) before the program. If you cancel less than 30 days prior to the program, $100 will be deducted from your refund. For registrations charged to your credit card the refund will be credited to your account. No cash refunds will be issued on charged registrations.
Pregnant women are asked not to participate in this course. Injection techniques will be practiced on each other.
The School of Dentistry will provide non-latex gloves, masks, and protective eyewear with side shields. The School of Dentistry will provide overgarments that comply with OSHA standards for infectious disease control and general safety. Your clinic attire must include pants and closed-toe leather shoes.
The local anesthesia course is designed as a three-day unit with a total of 2 hours of study outside of the classroom. You will receive the text, Handbook of Local Anesthesia by Stanley Malamed prior to the course if you wish to review head and neck anatomy, medical history considerations and local anesthesia techniques prior to the course. However, it is not required that you study prior to the course.
Parking is available in the Washington Avenue Ramp. The Washington Avenue Ramp is located at Washington Ave. SE and Harvard St. SE.
You will need to push the button on the stationary box in order to receive a parking slip and activate the gate. Detailed instructions for exiting the ramp will be provided during the program. Parking charges will be billed to Continuing Dental Education.
If EVENT PARKING is in place as you enter the ramp, please inform the attendant that you are attending a Continuing Dental Education conference in the School of Dentistry and that parking has been reserved for you.
PLEASE NOTE: If you park anywhere besides the Washington Ave. Ramp, you will be responsible for the parking fees.
The Commons Hotel Guests Only: If you are staying at the Commons Hotel (formerly the Radisson University Hotel), we encourage that you make parking reservations directly with the hotel. We cannot validate parking for overnight stays. Validated parking is only available during course hours.
