Could you be missing tumors, calcifications and other conditions on panoramic radiographs that impact your dental treatment?

Because normal anatomy and variations of normal are most difficult to interpret on panoramic radiographs, you may be missing diseases or treating normal conditions. In this continuing dental education course, you will learn how to build your diagnostic skills for dental implants, oral surgery, TMD and dental trauma as well as other dental and head and neck disorders through understanding protocols in panoramic interpretation. Dr. Ahmad, a board-certified oral and maxillofacial radiologist, will show you how to easily and efficiently evaluate panoramic radiographs. You will benefit from an interactive format using actual patient radiographs. Patient cases will involve:

  1. systemic diseases,
  2. TMJ disorders,
  3. sinus pathology,
  4. impactions,
  5. cysts and tumors,
  6. inflammation and infection,
  7. trauma, and
  8. soft tissue calcification.

You will take away from this course greater confidence and skill in your diagnosis and treatment planning with panoramic radiographs.

You will discover how to:

  • distinguish between normal and abnormal pathology.
  • identify commonly missed conditions that may have an adverse affect on your dental treatment.
  • discern which lesions need immediate attention and which ones can be watched.
  • determine when more than a panoramic radiograph is needed.
  • identify and correct errors with panoramic radiographic techniques.
Who Should Attend
