Growing Your Practice With Sports Dentistry
Growing Your Practice with Sports Dentistry
Friday, March 21, 2014
Are you and your dental team members prepared to manage sports-related orofacial injuries? Are you familiar with the different types of oral protection available to your patients?
Providing sports dentistry-related services to your patients, and your community sports teams, is a rewarding and unique way to set your practice apart. You can discover how to use sports dentistry to grow your practice by spending a day at the University of Minnesota with two seasoned sports dentists. You will gain insights into the field of sports dentistry and will obtain relevant clinical advice on the diagnosis, management and prevention of sports-related dental injuries. You will come away from this course not only with clinical tips that you can apply immediately in practice, but also with specific strategies to help build your practice.
This course is funded in part by an unrestricted educational grant from DENTSPLY Raintree Essix Glenroe.
Join us during this continuing dental education program and learn how to:
- recognize the potential risks of orofacial injuries as they relate to sports and athletes.
- assess and manage orofacial injuries and dental trauma associated with athletic activities.
- select the appropriate mouthguard depending on age, frequency and type of athletic activity of the patient.
- discuss the long-term impact of sports drinks and smokeless tobacco use in athletes.
- identify ways to build your practice through sports dentistry.
