After graduation from Loyola University School of Dentistry, I practiced General Dentistry for twelve years. I returned to academics in 1989 as a student in the University of Minnesota Graduate School to pursue a Master's Degree in Prosthodontics. Since receiving the advanced degree, I have been privileged to work in both the preclinical and clinical Prosthodontic education of undergraduate dental students at the University of Minnesota.
I attribute my desire to be involved in the fabrication of dental prosthetics to the early training I received in the field of mechanical engineering. Prosthodontics is a "bridge" from the man-made world to the biological. Prosthodontics challenges the dentist to be innovative and unique because of the individuality of each patient's needs.
