Give Kids a Smile 2016

The University of Minnesota School of Dentistry will take part in Give Kids a Smile!, a statewide charitable program coordinated by the Minnesota Dental Association to provide free care to children younger than 18 years old. School of Dentistry faculty and students will be volunteering their time and talents and will be offering exams, cleanings, sealants, amalgams/composite fillings, endodontic screenings, radiographs/x-rays, extractions, and crowns among other services free of charge. Students from the University of Minnesota Medical School, College of Pharmacy and other Academic Health Center schools will also be on hand to help educate patients and their families.

To make an appointment, please call 612-625-1669. Due to the typically high volume of patients seen during Give Kids a Smile, it is very important you call in advance to schedule an appointment. What to expect

A parent or guardian is required to attend the appointment with the patient. Please be prepared to spend the entire appointment with your child, and know that this may take the entire time of the event.

Directions and Parking

The School of Dentistry clinics are located at Moos Tower, 515 Delaware St. SE, Minneapolis, MN 55455. For driving directions, click here. Moos Tower also is accessible by MetroTransit. Parking in the Washington Avenue Parking Ramp will be available at a discounted rate for Give Kids a Smile participants. Please tell the attendant on duty upon entering that you are there for Give Kids a Smile. You will receive a parking voucher after completion of the dental appointment. Cash only.

Who will be there?

School of Dentistry faculty and students are volunteering their time and talents for Give Kids a Smile. All dental students will be working under the supervision of faculty. Also, representatives from Portico Healthnet will be on hand to help patients and their families enroll in public assistance programs.
