Gopalakrishnan receives School of Dentistry's highest honor
Raj Gopalakrishnan, BDS, PhD was named Century Club Professor of the Year at the Dean’s Recognition Reception on April 27, 2012. The award is the dental school’s highest honor and is annually conferred upon one faculty member in recognition of outstanding contributions in education, research and service.
Gopalakrishnan is an associate professor in the School of Dentistry’s Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology.

Jeff Karp named director of new dental clinic and Advanced Education Program in Pediatric Dentistry

Jeffrey M. Karp, D.M.D., M.S., has been named director of the new University of Minnesota Pediatric Dental Clinic, Made Possible by Delta Dental of Minnesota, and director of the School of Dentistry’s Advanced Education Program in Pediatric Dentistry. He will join the faculty full-time in July 2012.
Karp is currently associate professor in the Departments of Dentistry and Pediatrics at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.

First patients treated at new dental clinic

The brand new University of Minnesota Pediatric Dental Clinic, Made Possible by Delta Dental of Minnesota, hosted its first patients on April 3, opening the door to a new era of pediatric dental care and education in the state. The new clinic, located adjacent to the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital, was the recipient of a $3.5 million gift from Delta Dental of Minnesota Trust and a $500,000 grant from 3M Foundation. The state-of-the-art clinic stands as Minnesota's largest hospital-based pediatric dental clinic and the most advanced pediatric dental clinic in the Upper Midwest. The clinic will have its grand opening May 15.
