ASDA Appreciation Luncheon

On January 18th, Dean Lloyd hosted a luncheon at the Campus Club to honor 2005-2006 University of Minnesota ASDA leaders for receiving the 2006 Ideal Chapter award.  To receive this honor, each ASDA chapter is judged on standards of excellence in six criteria:

  • Outstanding membership and communication
  • Chapter organization
  • Involvement with organized dentistry
  • Outstanding activities
  • Advocacy
  • Outstanding fundraising.

This award recognizes the ASDA chapter that stands out nationally as exemplary in such areas as membership, legislative grassroots efforts, chapter organization and more.  This year's award is also special because it is the second consecutive year that the University of Minnesota ASDA chapter received it.

During the luncheon, in recognition of their support, Dick Diercks, Executive Director of the Minnesota Dental Association (which sponsors the University Chapter) and Dean Patrick Lloyd were presented with photographs of the U of M ASDA delegation at National Lobby Day in Washington, D.C. Additional awards were presented to:

  • Lindell Kemmet, ASDA Achievement Award for his hard work and dedication to his position and to the organization
  • Laura Boland, ASDA Advocate of the Year Award for her support of the program
  • Dean Patrick Lloyd, ASDA Faculty of the Year Award for his support and willingness to listen to students.
