Dr. Karlind Moller Awarded by American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association

awardACPAsmallDr. Karlind Moller was awarded Honors of the Association by the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association (ACPA). The award, given April 23 in Scottsdale, Arizona, is the highest expression of respect and gratitude the association can bestow, and recognizes an individual “whose lifetime of research, health care delivery, or leadership has significantly impacted the care of individuals with cleft and craniofacial conditions”.

In his honor, the ACPA also established the Karlind T. Moller Cleft/Craniofacial Scholarship for Speech Pathology/Audiology Students. The scholarship for current undergraduate and graduate students funds research involving patients with cleft lip/palate and/or other craniofacial anomalies. The Moller Scholarship provides a one-year student membership in ACPA and $500 for research/project expenses.

Dr. Moller is a professor in the dental school’s Department of Developmental and Surgical Sciences. He joined the faculty of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1970 and served as the director of the dental school’s Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Program for more than 30 years.
