Graduate Program in Oral Biology Receives Block Grant

The Graduate Program in Oral Biology is proud to announce the receipt of a three-year Block Grant from the Graduate School in the amount of $67,500. Out of 60 letters of request to the Graduate School for Block Grants, half of the programs were selected for funding, priority going to top-quality programs. The Block Grant is our only source of funds that can provide stipends for international students in the PhD program in Oral Biology.

Last year the Graduate Program in Oral Biology received a one-year block grant ($15,000), a prestigious 3M Fellowship ($49,000 over four years) and funds for recruiting activities ($3,500). For the coming 2007 - 08 academic year, the Block Grant award amount is $22,500 and funding will continue for two more years at or above this level.

This year's Block Grant funds are awarded with the stipulation that they be used as support for ONE outstanding student. Details on applying for the block grant fellowship will follow soon. Priority will be to support an outstanding incoming PhD student.
