Professor of the Year Dinner
Past recipients of the Professor of the Year Award will return to campus on December 14th to attend a dinner in their honor at the McNamara Center. A number of past honorees and their guests are invited to join Dean Patrick Lloyd for an enjoyable evening of reminiscing, recognition and an update on news of the school. The event will celebrate the school’s most recent honoree, Dr. Ralph DeLong, who received his award in April at the 2005 Dean’s Reception, held in conjunction with the Minnesota Dental Association’s annual “Star of the North Meeting”. The featured speaker for event will be Dr. Paul Jardine. The event is being organized by the SOD Development Office.
The “Professor of the Year” recognition event was held for the first time in 2004 to recognize the contributions of all Professors of the Year honorees. At that time, each of the 36 awardees received a plaque acknowledging his/her selection as a former Professor of the Year. Those currently on faculty at the School of Dentistry display their plaques on the wall outside their offices.
