Deans Day 2010
Cutting-edge research was the order of the day during the 6th Annual Research Day at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. The March 26 event featured an overview of research being done by faculty and students at the dental school. The keynote address was by Dr. Brad Rindal, the Minnesota Region Principal Investigator for the Dental Practice-Based Research Network, and a dental school alumnus.
Dr. Rindal spoke on the subject of "Practice-Based Research: Bridging the Gap Between Research and Clinical Practice; his lecture was followed by Dr. Patrick Foy, a general dentist with a practice in Minneapolis who also spoke on the topic. A list of faculty presenters can be found in the event program online here (link).
Sixteen students also presented their research findings in poster presentations, including first-year dental student David Nedrelow, pictured above, who presented research on bone biology.
