2008 Dean's Day


March 28: The 2008 Dean’s Day will be a day for personal and professional enrichment for students, staff and faculty, alike.

For students: Award-winning keynote speaker Naomi Rhode will share her thoughts on leadership, a balanced life, interpersonal communication and team building. In the afternoon, David Schwab, internationally known speaker and consultant, will present “Launching Your Career at Warp Speed!”, a presentation that will capitalize on the morning’s topics and take the next step toward practical applications in dental practice.

 Location: Coffman Union Theater, 9:00 a.m.


For staff: Personal motivation and wellness will be the focus of the day, with keynote speaker Mary Jo Paloranta delivering her powerful message about enhancing personal potential. In the afternoon, New Employee Orientation staff will offer insights into the University of Minnesota, its mission and leadership, the Driven to Discover campaign, and more. The day will end with a variety of active programming, along with a University information fair. Registration is required; watch your e-mail for information.

Location: McNamara Alumni Center, 8:15 a.m.


For faculty: We welcome one of our own to start the day. SOD alumnus Paul Krebsbach (‘87) , one of the leading scientists in the evolving field of tissue engineering, currently on faculty at the University of Michigan. Also featured will be faculty presentations and student research posters. 7 CDE credit hours will be awarded to participants. See attached for additional information.

 Location: Great Hall, Coffman Union. 8:00 a.m.
