It was a beautiful Friday afternoon in May when 85 dental, 35 dental hygiene, ten dental hygiene degree-completion, nine advanced education and seven graduate students marched into Northrop Auditorium in front of family, friends and faculty to receive the degree that they had worked so hard for.
Dr. Robert M. Brandjord, President of the American Dental Association, delivered the graduation address. Then it was time to receive the diplomas, flip the lilac tassels (the color designated for dentistry), and pass through a color guard of faculty.
The reception was held on Northrop Plaza, which soon became a scene of boisterous activity –greetings, introductions, hugs, laughter, picture-taking and then, … the good-byes. Hopefully, the friendships that were made here in the school will continue into the future, along with the good memories.
