Question segment (11/1/10) about the role of candy and genetics in causing tooth decay.
Louis Mansky, School of Dentistry and Medical School, was featured in a Post-Tribune news article for his research which identified two drugs that when combined could potentially treat HIV.
The West Central Tribune printed an article about Give Kids a Smile Day at Rice Regional Dental Clinic. Clinic Director Linda Jackson was interviewed, as was fourth year dental student Brian Peters.
Dental Therapy student Megan Meyer was featured in a Minnesota Daily article (3/22) about her project to send 1 Million Books to Gambia.
Patrick Lloyd (Restorative Sciences-Prosthodontics) was quoted in a Minnesota Daily article (3/3/11) about the difficulty patients face accessing School of Dentistry clinics.
Dean Patrick Lloyd was quoted in the 4/11/11 Columbus Dispatch about the University’s dental therapy program. He was also quoted in US News and World Report and Drugs.com articles that referred to the University of Minnesota as the first dental school in the nation to offer a dental therapy program.
Naty Lopez (Admissions and Diversity) was featured in a Star Tribune article about the Saturday Dental Academy Program, which introduces middle and high school students to careers in dentistry and the health sciences

School of Dentistry patient clinics were featured in a Minnesota Daily article. Dean Patrick Lloyd (Prosthodontics) and Craig Selden (Clinical Affairs) were interviewed. The article also appeared in the Twin Cities Daily Planet.

The University of Minnesota School of Dentistry was referenced in the ADEA newsletter Charting Progress in a message from the ADEA Executive Director apprising how recent state initia-tives are reshaping the licensure landscape.
Fourth-year dental student Rebecca Doolittle was interviewed on KSTP TV as part of a story about the U of M Disaster Emergency Training Program held August 29. Of the 28 AHC student par-ticipants, eight were School of Dentistry students.

Interim Dean Judith Buchanan was interviewed by Minnesota Public Radio for a story about the School of Dentistry's new pediatric dental clinic and Delta Dental of Minnesota Trust's $3.5 million gift to support the project. A photo of dental students Kyle Nelson (D4) from Willmar and Aaron Bumann (D3) from Pierre, S.D. accompanied the article. Note: The photo appeared in print, but did not appear on the website.
