McClanahan to be named American Board of Endodontics director
Scott McClanahan, D.D.S. M.S., will be confirmed as Director of the American Board of Endodontics in April 2013. This honor is awarded to candidates who have demonstrated diagnostic skill, clinical proficiency and professional judgment of a level that promotes the highest quality of care for patients.
McClanahan joined the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry faculty in 2005 as director of the Division of Endodontics and Graduate Endodontics program. Prior to joining the University of Minnesota, he served as a career officer for the United States Navy, as well as director of its advanced education training program in endodontics. He also has held faculty appointments at George Washington University and Northwestern University Dental School.
McClanahan received his doctor of dental surgery degree from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill, and his certificate of residency and master of science degree from Northwestern University Dental School in Evanston, Illinois.
The American Board of Endodontics, founded in 1956, is the only certifying board for the specialty of endodontics and is one of nine specialty boards recognized by the American Dental Association.
