General Info

At the University of Minnesota Dental Clinics we provide general and special dental care in association with the School of Dentistry's educational programs. Each year, there are more than 100,000 patient visits in the dental clinics which are located in Moos Health Sciences Tower on the East Bank of the Minneapolis East Bank Campus.

We have more that 500 students enrolled in the School of Dentistry's training programs. Our programs include the dental (D.D.S.) and dental hygiene (D.H.) programs, post-graduate training in the certified specialties of endodontics ("root canal" treatment), oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics (treatment of gingival disorders, i.e. "gum disease"), and prosthodontics (replacement of missing teeth with fixed and/or removable prosthesis, including implants).

Additionally, there are programs dealing with TMJ disorders and facial pain, the Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Anomalies Clinic, as well as residency programs which prepare dentists for general practice and hospital dentistry. This facility also maintain a dental practice which serves patients who choose to be treated by School of Dentistry faculty members.
