  • Stipends and fees

    Resident Stipends for 2010 - 2011


    University Educational Fees

    There are University and School of Dentistry fees that total approximately $2650 per year for which a resident is responsible to pay. Tuition is currently funded through GME dollars. However, it is not a guarantee that tuition will be paid next year. Currently the tuition amount is approximately $945 per semester. Additionally, there is an annual resident license fee of $55.

  • Health Insurance

    The University will provide full single health insurance coverage during the 4-year training period. The resident is responsible for a portion of the monthly fee. ($38 or $83 depending upon chosen plan) Additional dependent care coverage must be paid entirely by the resident. For more information, click here.

  • Obtaining a Medical Degree

    Several graduates of the University of Minnesota’s Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Advanced Training program have obtained a medical degree after completing their training program. At the current time, however, the University of Minnesota’s program is not an integrated program, nor does it have a formal agreement with any medical schools. Direction and advice will be offered to those residents wishing to seek medical training after their residency training program.

  • Accreditation Status

    The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Advanced Training Program at the University of Minnesota is fully accredited by the American Dental Association’s Commission on Dental Accreditation. The last site visit was April 11, 2007, at which time the program was given special recognition for faculty scholarly activity.
