Four-year program
  • Year 1

    Clinical Rotations:

    • Anesthesia: 4 months (UMMC-Fairview)
    • Medicine: 2 months (UMMC-Fairview)
    • Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery: 6 months (Hennepin County Medical Center, and the University of Minnesota)

    Didactic courses: – Summer, start of 1st year

    • History and Physical Diagnosis
    • Head and Neck Anatomy
    • Interdisciplinary Care of the Cleft Palate/Craniofacial Patient

    ATLS: Complete ATLS course in first or second year.

  • Year 2

    Clinical Rotations:

    • General Surgery / Surgical ICU / Neurosurgery: 6 months (Hennepin County Medical Center)
    • Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery: 6 months
       
  • Year 3

    Clinical Rotations:

    • Plastic Surgery: 3 months (Regions Hospital)
    • Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery: 9 months
    • Pediatric Anesthesia: Weekly (Friday mornings) third or fourth year

    Trauma Call: North Memorial (on-call, carry pager 24/7)

  • Year 4

    Clinical Rotations:

    • Opthalmology: (optional)
    • Oral Pathology: 1 week
    • Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery: 10-12 months (at the chief level at the University of Minnesota and Hennepin County Medical Center)
    • Foreign Rotation: 2 months – Scotland, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary
    • Pediatric Anesthesia: Weekly (Friday mornings) third or fourth year
