Master of Dental Therapy

Students in the Master of Dental Therapy Program will be among the first in the nation to graduate in a newly created career path.  The year-round, 28-month master’s degree program prepares graduates to assume roles in many different health care environments, such as private general dental practices, group dental practices, and community clinics.  The program is the only midlevel provider education program in the country that is affiliated with an accredited school of dentistry.  Students take several courses with dental and dental hygiene students, and all students learn together in School Dentistry clinics, which model a general practice. The Master of Dental Therapy Program will include an emphasis on leadership, education and public health.  A commitment to community service and to intellectual development and critical thinking is emphasized.
