Robert J. Isaacson
Dr. Robert J. Isaacson (1932-2018) was a pioneer, a visionary, and an extraordinary educator. His academic career was launched at the University of Minnesota, continued in California at UC San Francisco, and concluded at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Dr. Isaacson touched countless lives and ignited the careers of many. It is only fitting that the School of Dentistry, through the generosity of donors, honor his legacy.
Delores Isaacson has made a gift of $1 million to establish the Robert J. Isaacson Professorship in Orthodontics. The Professorship will assist the University in recruiting, supporting, and retaining outstanding faculty members in the Division of Orthodontics. Delores also established the Robert J. Isaacson Innovation in Orthodontics fund, which will provide program support, technology updates and research opportunities.
The Division is seeking an additional $1.5 million in gifts.
- $1 million to grow the Robert J. Isaacson Professorship into a Chair because this is the highest honor we can bestow on him.
- $500,000 for the Robert J. Isaacson Innovation in Orthodontics fund.
We invite those of you who have been touched by Dr. Isaacson in some way to consider making your own gift in his memory. With your help, we will make sure that Dr. Isaacson continues to touch lives and impact orthodontists today and in the future.
