Summary

Dr. Quick serves as the Division Director of Dental Public Health and Director of Global Programs as an Associate Professor with Tenure in the Department of Primary Dental Care at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. 

Research

Research Summary/Interests

Her main area of study is academic learning environments including the overall dental school environment, as well as the smaller environments where students learn—classrooms, labs, clinics, and communities. She creates and studies learning environments that build professional relationships and promote deep thinking through active learning methods. Her community-engaged work focuses on health equity and interprofessional teams. She serves as a peer-reviewer for the Journal of Dental Education, European Journal of Dental Education, and Health Services Research.

Teaching

Academic Interests and Focus

Her previous academic appointments include Acting Department Co-Chair, Primary Dental Care, Acting Division Director of Comprehensive Care, and Comprehensive Care Group Leader. She currently directs several courses in the Division of Dental Public Health at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. She is a fellow in the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists and a member of the American Dental Association, American Dental Education Association, Association for Dental Education in Europe, American Association of Public Health Dentistry, American Interprofessional Health Collaborative, Association of Standardized Patient Educators, and Society for Simulation in Healthcare. She recently served the American Dental Education Association as a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee.
