School of Dentistry Commencement 2020

Commencement 2020 Postponed

The School of Dentistry commencement ceremony, scheduled for Friday, May 15, has been postponed as part of the University of Minnesota’s continued efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19. While we deeply regret not being able to recognize and celebrate our 2020 graduates in the traditional manner this May, the University of Minnesota will honor our undergraduate, graduate and professional students during a virtual commencement on May 16. Join us at 11 a.m. CDT for an online celebration, “Hail to Thee,” the University’s alma mater and a reference from Minnesota’s state song chosen to reflect the University’s admiration for our graduates' incredible resilience in these stressful times. In the spirit of a traditional commencement, all graduates will receive a tassel and diploma cover. Visit z.umn.edu/commencement2020 for further information and check back as more details are added.

The School of Dentistry continues to look for an additional meaningful way to honor graduates. More information will be shared with graduates as soon as it becomes available. We are grateful to the entire School of Dentistry community for their patience, flexibility and cooperation as we navigate this unique situation.

DDS students sit in Northrop Auditorium and clap during the 2018 Commencement program.

Please check back frequently for updates about commencement and graduation ceremonies.
