Courses Eligible for Mandatory and Core Competency Credit

Mandatory and core competency credits are required each biennial cycle for Minnesota licensees. Mandatory and core competency credit are also considered fundamental credit since these are activities directly relate to the provision of clinical dental services.

Mandatory credits are earned in infection control.

Core competency credits are earned in the following areas:

  • record keeping,
  • ethics,
  • patient communication,
  • management of medical emergencies, and
  • diagnosis and treatment planning (optional for DH and DA).
