Clinical Practicum in Geriatrics & Long-Term Care
After you have completed the Miniresidency in Geriatrics and Long-term Care, expand your hands-on experiences working with older adults and special needs patients in long-term care facilities.
One-on-one instruction is available during individualized rotations. You can gain actual experience treating older adults or special needs patients working side-by-side with university faculty and staff providing dental care in long-term care facilities.
This unique opportunity will allow you to apply your knowledge from the Geriatric Miniresidency and advance your skills in working with geriatric patients. Individual help will be available in many areas including medical risk assessment, treatment planning, clinical procedures, preventive care, communications and informed consent, behavior management, radiographic techniques, and documentation of dental services.
