Dental Therapists – A New Generation of Oral Health Providers, Part 1: An Introduction

Dental therapists/advanced dental therapists enhance dental teams and provide oral health care within our most underserved communities. During this 1.5 hour program, the first in a two-part series, you will gain insights on why dental therapy was established in Minnesota and how dental therapists have been successfully integrated into practices. This introduction to dental therapy includes an overview of the profession, data detailing the proliferation of the profession throughout Minnesota and beyond, ethical considerations, and access to care insights. While this course describes the Minnesota Model of dental therapy, professionals throughout the world will gain insights on the role of dental therapists in modern dentistry.
