A Day in the Life of a DDS Student

Grant Dye, DDS - A day in the life

Grant Dye, DDS ’21, graduated this year with his dentistry degree. But before he ventured into the world of practicing dentistry, he took us on a journey via Instagram to show us what it’s like to be a DDS student at the University of Minnesota.

Dye shared that his day usually starts with a trip to the Recreation Center on campus, before heading to Moos Tower for a day of clinical work.

So the great thing about the University of Minnesota is - Blue Line and Green Line

Then, he took us through the process of finishing a full-mouth reconstruction case.

Waxing teeth is one of the first things you learn how to do in dental school. Step 1: Clean the cube with disinfectant wipes and cover surfaces with barrier film

After a break for lunch, Dye headed to the oral surgery floor to help out with a few extractions.

Appointment 2: Pre-doc OMS Clinic for extractions

He finished the day by showing off some favorite spots off campus, before sharing why he loves the University of Minnesota.

Stone Arch Bridge one of my favorite places. My favorite part of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry is that they are caring and they want to be here
