MDRCBB robot helps chart the future of taste

MDRCBB Roboto

The University of Minnesota School of Dentistry's Minnesota Dental Research Center for Biomaterials and Biomechanics (MDRCBB) was featured on NPR's Marketplace on February 15.

Marketplace featured the MDRCBB's robot which tests dental restoration materials. The machine, which can chew at super speed, is being used by food companies to test the crispiness and texture of their products. The robot can measure the sound frequency of the crispy sounds made by the robot chewing food.
