Stephen Shuman named Professor of the Year

Congratulations to Stephen K. Shuman, DDS, MS, who received the School of Dentistry's 2016 Century Club Professor of the Year Award. The award is the school's highest honor and is given annually in recognition of significant contributions to the school in the areas of education, research and service. Dr. Shuman joined the School of Dentistry faculty in 1989 and is a professor in the Department of Primary Dental Care and director of the dental school's Oral Health Services for Older Adults Program. The award was presented at the Minnesota Dentistry Reception, co-sponsored by the School of Dentistry and the Minnesota Dental Association (MDA), on April 28 in conjunction with the MDA's Star of the North Meeting.

Also recognized at the event were recipients of the School of Dentistry Alumni Society's (SODAS) Distinguished Alumni Awards. Dr. George J. Kinney, Jr. was recognized as the SODAS Distinguished Dental Alumnus, and Ms Lisa Ahmann, MEd., was recognized as the 2016 Distinguished Dental Hygiene Alumna.
