University features Mark Herzberg in What Drives You video

The University of Minnesota featured School of Dentistry professor Mark C. Herzberg, DDS, PhD, in its What Drives You campaign.

The feature highlights Herzberg’s journey from English major to his work in scientific research. In 2016, Herzberg’s group discovered that a protein found in saliva suppresses tumors in experimental head and neck cancer.

The video is part of the Academic Health Center’s Driven campaign.

Herzberg, a professor in the dental school’s Department of Diagnostic and Biological Sciences and the director of the Minnesota Craniofacial Research Training Program (MinnCResT), is also a member of the University’s Grand Challenges Interdisciplinary Work Group that received a $300,000 collaboration grant in 2016 to advance the University’s research goal of assuring clean water and sustainable ecosystems.
