Dr. Fanny N. Freund Advanced Education Scholarship
The Dr. Fanny N. Freund Advanced Education Scholarship was established to provide support to advanced education students enrolled at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and who are pursuing a career in academics. Dr. Fanny N. Freund immigrated to America from Poland in 1950 and was a Holocaust survivor. She would go on to earn DDS and MSD degrees from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and practiced as an Orthodontist in Minnesota for almost 50 years.
Applicants must be currently enrolled full-time in an advanced education program at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Recipients must be in good academic standing and have demonstrated a desire for a career in academics.
Up to $12,000 in scholarship funds will be awarded annually with a maximum of three recipients receiving equal scholarship amounts. Selected recipients will receive scholarships for their studies with scholarships applied directly to the recipients’ student accounts.
The 2019-2020 application cycle for this scholarship is now closed and is no longer accepting applications. The 2020-2021 application cycle will open in fall 2020.
